  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cinnamon milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until just warm to the touch, then mix with sugar and yeast and let it sit until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture and combine.
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms, knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled (about 60 minutes).
  5. Cook diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a skillet until soft, then cool.
  6. Punch down the dough, roll it into a rectangle, and add butter, sugar, and cinnamon mixture.
  7. Spread the cooled apple mixture evenly, roll tightly, and slice into 12 pieces.
  8. Let the rolls rise for 30 minutes, then bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, and drizzle over warm rolls.
