Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the softened butter and brown sugar; mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. If using, fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a greased or lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers are set.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

You can substitute butter with margarine or coconut oil and add nuts or dried fruits for variations.
