  • Author: chef david
  • Total Time: 15 minutes

Description

Create beautiful, biodegradable suncatchers using a homemade bioplastic mixture and natural decorations like flower petals or food-safe colorants.

Ingredients

– 1/2 cup water

– 2 tbsp cornstarch

– 1 tbsp white vinegar

– 1 tbsp unflavored gelatin powder

– Natural or food-safe coloring

– Optional: flower petals, glitter, or tissue paper

– Non-stick surface (plastic sheet, silicone mat, or parchment paper)

– Hole punch

– String or suction hook

Instructions

1. Mix all base ingredients in a saucepan until smooth.

2. Heat over medium-low while stirring until the mixture thickens.

3. Divide and color the mixture as desired, then pour onto a non-stick surface.

4. Decorate with petals, glitter, or other natural items.

5. Air dry for 24–48 hours, flipping halfway through.

6. Punch a hole and thread a string for hanging.

Notes

Flip the suncatchers halfway through drying for best results. Customize designs with natural shapes and layered colors.
