Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Salt (preferably sea salt or kosher salt)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (cold and cubed)
  • 1/4 cup Ice Water (adjust based on humidity)
  • 1/4 cup Sesame Seeds (can substitute with poppy seeds or a mix)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add ice water until the dough holds together.
  5. Fold in sesame seeds to evenly distribute.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness.
  8. Cut the dough into stick shapes.
  9. Place the sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and crisp.
  11. Cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. Can be made ahead of time by refrigerating the dough for up to 3 days.
