Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Pita bread or flatbreads for serving
- Fresh vegetables (e.g., lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers) for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add chicken thighs and coat well.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best flavor).
- Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.
- Cook the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
- In a separate bowl, mix minced garlic, yogurt, and lemon juice to create the garlic sauce.
- Slice the cooked chicken into thin strips.
- Serve the chicken in pita bread with garlic sauce and fresh vegetables.
Notes
For the best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Grilling the chicken gives a smoky taste, but baking works well too. Store leftovers in airtight containers and enjoy within 3 days.
