A delightful breakfast combining flaky croissants and creamy custard, baked to perfection with warm flavors of vanilla and cinnamon.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large croissants
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter (for greasing)
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Maple topping (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in the greased dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissant pieces, ensuring they are soaked evenly.
  5. If desired, cover and refrigerate overnight for a make-ahead option.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown and set.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with maple topping.

Notes

Use day-old croissants for best texture. Serve with fresh fruit or yogurt for contrast.
