A fresh, zesty green sauce made with tomatillos, cilantro, lime, and garlic, perfect for tacos, dips, or dressing.

Ingredients

  • 6 tomatillos
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 jalapeño (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Husk and rinse the tomatillos.
  2. Boil the tomatillos in water until tender, about 10 minutes.
  3. Drain and let cool slightly.
  4. In a blender, combine the tomatillos, cilantro, onion, garlic, jalapeño (if using), lime juice, and salt.
  5. Blend until smooth.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  7. Serve with tacos, grilled meats, or as a dip.

Notes

This sauce can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days. Freezing in small portions is recommended for longer storage.
