Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2-3 fresh jalapenos, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm water and sugar in a bowl. Let it sit until frothy (5-10 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt, then create a well in the center. Pour in the yeast mixture, olive oil, and jalapenos; mix until combined.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down, shape into a loaf, and allow to rise again for another hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
