- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup Sloppy Joe sauce
- 2 cups frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the diced onion and bell pepper until softened.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce and season with salt and pepper.
- In a baking dish, spread the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly.
- Top with frozen tater tots, arranging them in a single layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a fresh, zesty lift, add chopped green onions or a spoon of salsa on top before serving.
