Ingredients
500 ml water
1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, sliced
3–4 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
Optional: 1 teaspoon honey or a squeeze of lemon juice
Instructions
Bring 500 ml water to a boil in a saucepan.
Add ginger, cloves, cinnamon stick, and bay leaf.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
Strain into a cup and enjoy warm, preferably before breakfast.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding orange peel, cardamom, or rose petals. Serve hot in winter or chilled over ice in summer.
