A golden apple cobbler made with spiced apples and a buttery topping, best served warm with ice cream.

    Ingredients

    Scale

6 cups apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work great)

    ½ cup granulated sugar

    2 tbsp brown sugar

    1 tsp cinnamon

    ¼ tsp nutmeg

    1 tsp lemon juice

    2 tsp cornstarch

1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend if needed)

    1 cup granulated sugar

    1 tsp baking powder

    ½ tsp salt

    1 cup milk

    ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

    Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.

In a bowl, toss apples with sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Spread evenly in the baking dish.

In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter until smooth.

Pour the batter evenly over the apples. It will spread as it bakes.

Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

Let cool slightly before serving with ice cream or whipped cream.

    Notes

Use firm apples for best texture. Allow cobbler to cool slightly before serving so the filling sets. Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat before serving.
