A warm, simple dish combining cheese tortellini and a rich tomato and beef sauce, perfect for any weeknight.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 package (9 ounces) refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned.
  3. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the tortellini and mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
